Pelajar Nigeria dipenjara tipu e-mel
KUALA LUMPUR: Seorang pelajar perempuan warga negara Nigeria dijatuhi hukuman penjara 15 bulan selepas mengaku bersalah di Mahkamah Majistret di sini hari ini kerana membuat penipuan melalui Internet.
Peace Okotie, 26, didakwa cuba menipu seorang pembantu tadbir, Buang Md Sayuti, 42, dengan mendakwa dia boleh menguruskan proses membawa masuk wang hadiah Microsoft bernilai US$1 juta yang kononnya dimenangi oleh Buang.
Pegawai pendakwa Azimul Azimi Md Nor memberitahu mahkamah bahawa Buang menerima e-mel yang kononnya daripada Microsoft menyatakan bahawa dia menjadi pemenang wang tunai US$1 juta bagi cabutan ulang tahun Microsoft 2008 yang dibuat di Stadium Stamford Bridge, London.
